I discovered this Maintenance Mode WordPress plugin while visiting another blog. It is a very clean looking interface and user friendly, does not cause any glitches with your blog. What is really nice about this WordPress plugin:
After activation it adds a splash page to your blog that lets visitors know your blog is down for maintenance. Logged in users get full access to the blog including the front-end, depends of the settings. It will allow you to upload your own logo. Feel free to visit the developers page. Please note the page language is in German, however it is available in English.
Clean Contact to send me an direct email.
Clean Contact was placed on this blog yesterday to allow visitors to contact me directly without registering on the website or use Captcha. No hassle contact form, very clean and user friendly and easy to setup Clean Contact on your blog.
A word about WordPress plugin housekeeping: Since I have started my self hosted WordPress blog there have been numerous WordPress updates. What I have found is that most plugin developers don’t update their plugins. When WordPress updates to a newer version and the plugin has not been updated…..it can and will wreck havoc on the performance of your blog if everything is not kept up to date. Some plugins I have suggested in the past may have work with a previous version of WordPress. It is advisable that you make sure that the plugins you install on the back-end run with your current version of the platform your using.
Check WordPress Plugin directory for the latest information. If the plugin is not in their suppository…use with caution!
Facebook Like Plugin The FBLikeButton Plugin for WordPress allows you to configure and display the FaceBook Like Button before and/or after each post and/or page, and whether or not you want the button to appear on your homepage.
The FaceBook Like Button enables users to make connections to your pages and share content back to their friends on Facebook with one click. Since the content is hosted by Facebook, the button can display personalized content whether or not the user has logged into your site. For logged-in Facebook users, the button is personalized to highlight friends who have also liked the page.
