WordPress 2.7 Coltrane Bandwagon

I finally took that sweet leap onto the WordPress 2.7 Coltrane bandwagon upgrade dance that has been buzzing around the Internet by using the fully automatic upgrades of your WordPress blog plugin. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to breakup with WordPress 2.6.5 because some of my favorite plugins would not be able to come along for the ride into the blazing fast WordPress 2.7 Coltrane with its jazzy interface according to the compatibility list circulating the Internet. Last night I tip toed quietly onto WordPress 2.7 Coltrane bandwagon which was accomplished by using the Single Click Plugin Updater WordPress Plugin which at the click of a keystroke I was done with the upgrade. No html code needed either.  I am very happy that I broke up with the outdated WordPress 2.6.5 interface which was dull in comparison to my new WordPress 2.7 Coltrane layout. Needless to say my favorite plugin “Admin Drop Down Menu” did not break up officially with WordPress 2.7 Coltrane much to my surprise this morning. It changed a few codes here and there, now I am able to use it within my WordPress 2.7. Coltrane layout with the admin drop down buttons that I fell in love with in the first place. Thanks to Ozh! The NextGen Gallery Plugin still has a few bugs in it and based on some of the comments I have read on their website; there are some unhappy WordPress 2.7 Coltrane users who made the switch to the new upgrade for the NextGen Gallery plugin. I am not ready to update my blog with the NextGen Gallery plugin onto my new WordPress 2.7 Coltrane’s of other plugins for the fear that it would mess up everything that has sync very nicely with my new WordPress 2.7 Coltrane blog. Not until they work out some bug issues.  Another issue that prevented me from jumping onto the WordPress upgrade to 2.7 bandwagon the first week is that the list floating around the web about theme and plugin compatibility may be a tad bit out of the loop. I downloaded the CognoBlue theme but I did not like the blank white screen that I kept getting. I did not want to lose my current template “Three column, Search Engine Optimized, Widget Ready, Adsense optimized,Adsense Friendly, Supporting tags & Gravatars”. My current Xeiro 1.1 by blogsdna theme was not on the list and it works very nicely with the new WordPress 2.7 Coltrane interface. Never believe everything you read on the Internet until you test it out yourself. I am officially now a part of the WordPress 2.7 Coltrane bandwagon. I love the new “Jazzy” style! Those folks over at the WordPress development camp really outdid themselves and should pat themselves on the back!
