WATCH | LeBron “Rise”

This isn’t about what LeBron James has done, or hasn’t done. This is about the difference between the expectations others may have of him versus the expectations he has of himself. What should he do? The answer is a question. Let’s hope he rise above the racial slurs and hate comments left on his Twitter page. James posted a message on Tuesday on the social networking site inviting haters to get their 2 mins of fame and light by posting something negative about him. About three hours later, James forwarded a negative message from someone who used a racial slur so it could be viewed by all 900,000 of his followers. Being an public figure, entertainer or athlete does not immune the individual in the spotlight from racially charged comments. When LeBron James started twitter I hope he was not that naive to believe that every comment left would be positive. Youtube and Twitter is filled with a lot of racially charged comments. Check out and read some Youtube comment boards from the folks comfortable revealing their hatred for a diverse society. Hell with em, James should take those millions and hideaway in his mansion and keep it moving. Not a whole lot you can do about folks whose hearts are filled with hate…you will die first until they get over their own narrowed minded thinking or have a moment with themselves in the mirror. What is shocking about all this racially charged behavior is since we have a black president in the White house in 2010. The racial divide has become prevalent by folks who are readily and openly disrespecting black folks by calling them nigger. If you closed your eyes and remember the blacks struggle and fight for equality from back in the day. This current behavior sort of reminds me of the era when black and whites were separate and not equal. Except violence is no longer tolerated by society….could these folks who are running around calling folks names and posting comments on social media boards be the offspring of those folks who were violently and physical seeking to oppress individual civil rightshqdefault WATCH | LeBron Rise ? What should LeBron do…play to win and rise above the negative thinking folks. James do not have time to get distracted by anyone….play basketball dude and make an honest women out of your girlfriend!

James published three negative tweets on his feed including one that was racially charged.

“I just want you guys to see it also,” James said after the Heat’s practice Wednesday afternoon. “To see what type of words that are said toward me and towards us as professional athletes. Everybody thinks it is a bed of roses and it’s not.”

In one message a person wrote that James is “a big nosed big lipped bug eyed (racial slur). Ur greedy, u try to hide ur ghettoness.”

Last month in an interview with CNN, James said that he felt some of the backlash aimed at him after his decision to sign with the Heat was racially based.

In another message James made public he was called a “fraud” and a “bitch” and in another tweet the writer wrote “why don’t u speak by laying ur head under a moving car.”

James often retweets messages from friends and fans but they are usually positive ones. But he said he reads the negative messages for

motivational purposes.

“You’re always going to have people who love you and who hate you,” James said. “I have enough motivation but I can always use a little more.”
