How would Dr. Martin Luther King feel about the current political environment if he was alive today?
Dr. Martin Luther fought feverishly to eradicate social change for all human beings. Today is a day we celebrate the Reverend across the country. Some folks are simply going through the motions while others reflect on the struggles of all people in the past and today. In my humble opinion, not much has change. Voter suppression is a prime example of what Dr. King fought against during the civil rights era.
Who would have ever thought in the 21st century that we would be having an conversation about the right to Vote? It appears that the civil rights era is repeating itself right under are snotty noses.
The King Center Archive has made available nearly a million documents associated with the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. notes written by the Civil Rights advocate that includes letters, telegrams, photos and speeches.
Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent. ~ Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
