President Barack Obama vowed the U.S. will take aggressive action to assist Mexico in battling drug cartels and stemming the flow of weapons and cash across the border.
Obama said he’ll press the U.S. Senate to ratify a Latin American arms-trafficking treaty that has been held up for more than a decade and promised to “ramp up” law enforcement along the border.
“I will not pretend that this is Mexico’s responsibility alone,” Obama said at a news conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon in Mexico City. “we have to do our part, we have to crack down on drug use in our cities and towns.” Read More
