In case you missed the Q & A by Pete Souza, Chief Official White House Photographer and Director of the White House Photography Office. Souza answered questions about photography from Flickr and Facebook in a live video chat. From getting the shot, lens he use, to wanting to get sleep, film v. digital and being in the room with the President of the United States, President Obama. On the White House Flickr account there are over 2,000 photographs of President Obama, the majority of the digital images are taken by Souza. The Flickr photostream receives an average of 50,000 hits a day and has been viewed 41,000,000 times since it started posting in February 2009.
Camera in tow, Souza travels alongside President Obama to visually document each meeting, trip and encounter for historical record. Check out Souza work on the White House Flickr photo stream and in the photo galleries on WhiteHouse.gov. This is very cool information that has never been covered by a White House photographer from previous administrations…..kudos to Souza for sharing his wealth of knowledge and advice to photographers. The full video can be viewed on the White House blog.
