White House Photographer Pete Souza uses the KISS method to take digital images. Keep it stupid stupid simple photography is less stressful than toting around a bag of gear and lens. The term popped into my head a few moments ago. I am going to KISS digital photography going into 2011. Did I tell you Photojournalist Peter Souza use the Canon Mark II 5D to shoot the President of the United States? Sure does!
I can’t tell you how many times I have been somewhere attempting to take a shot and an allege photographer decides they want to become an distraction to test my photography knowledge and my knowledge of my own gear. I am like an idiot that would stop and listen to the bantering, change my camera settings based on the allege expert and screw up my digital photoshoot at the event, etc. I am now in the mindframe of can’t all of that wait until after I get my shot or complete the event? Photographers should just KISS it!
Listen to the Keep it simple, stupid video. Tell me if you have not been in a similiar scenario when you are about to get your KISS photoshoot popping? Uh huh! My eyes roll in the back of my head and my forehead wrinkles from the distraction at the wrong moment just from the thought that I could be missing an important shot!
