Millions of individuals received a long and short stem yellow, red, and orange roses on Valentine’s Day around the globe. I had the pleasure of getting roses during my Aunt Althea’s funeral a week before Valentine’s Day.
I plucked the only surviving single rose from my landscaping bed before the first winter frost. The beautiful yellow rose was dangling from the branch before it began to bloom. The rose began to bloom after a few days sitting in water. I attempted to capture the center of the flower the second day it began blooming. Absolutely beautiful….
My single yellow rose eventually thoroughly dried up. It still looked beautiful to me. I just threw it away in the trash.
Roses are a woody perennial of the genus Rosa, within the family Rosaceae. There are over 100 species. I have been attempting to grow roses in my landscaping bed for the last 6 years. Each year the roses come back but a few of my shrubs did not survive the harsh conditions.
Tie the roses together with string or rubber bands. Hang them upside down to began preserving the beautiful blooming bulbs. I admired my roses for three days before I began the drying process to preserve the yellow, red and orange roses.
After the roses are stringed and taped together. Hang the roses up in a window.
In one week as you can see in the image above. The roses are moist in the center. By hanging the roses upside down it prevents the droopy dried look and keeps the stems straight.
The roses are gorgeous. The red roses dried to a deep red, the yellow roses maintain the yellow, pink roses became a darker hue of pink and the orange remain orange.
Cut the rubber bands and strings from stems.
Cut the stems. Place in a small vase without water.
Here comes the hard part. Decide where you want to sit your flowers in your crib. I suggest putting it in an area that is not disturbed to prevent the roses from being brush against, this will cause flaking and will destroy the dried flowers. Spritz lightly with your favorite perfume fragrance. Every time you walk pass the roses you can smell a light flowery fragrance in the air. Your olfactory glans will thank you for it and your spirit will soar.
I am still deciding where I want to sit my preserved yellow, red and orange dried roses? These roses are absolutely gorgeous.
In loving memory of my Aunt Althea. I placed a single rose in my bible to dry flat.

5 A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.
6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings ruin.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not upright.
Place the rose in between two napkins to prevent the page of the book from staining. When the rose has thoroughly dried than remove the tissue if you desire. Stack your favorite books on top of the book with the flower. Done…
Note: An individual can receive roses anytime of the year. Not only on Valentine’s Day. A rose is still a beautiful rose. Do you stop and smell the roses? Do you admire the rose gorgeous array of colors? Have you tried to grow your own roses?
