This morning when I woke up I decided that I would take out a roast that has been sitting in my freezer. I knew that the pasta has lost its appeal and it was that time to think about what we would be eating for dinner this evening. Therefore I took the initiative and decided we would have a roast dinner, with rice and sauteed spinach for dinner this evening and the next few days. Besides it is raining outside in Maryland and it is a perfect time to turn on the oven and get that home cook meal aroma throughout the house.
Put garlic, pepper and place water on the bottom of the pan. Place in the oven at 350 degrees for two hours or until done.
To thicken the stock add cornstarch until desired thickness and season to taste. I use rosemary and a dash of season salt.
Optional: Use gravy in a jar, steak sauce or Worcestershire.
Optional: Serve with rice, mash potatoes, bake potato and a green vegetable. Can be served with eggs and grits.
Standing Rib Roast Beef Rib purchased at our local Food Lion. The family can eat off this roast for a couple of days.
