Flickr has chimed in a blog post to let their users know photos uploaded to Flickr will remain your images..ALWAYS! Users will retain all rights to the photos they upload.
“We feel very strongly that sharing online shouldn’t meant giving up rights to your photos,” says Flickr’s Zack Sheppard.
“Our Terms of Service clearly spell out that Flickr/Yahoo! doesn’t own the photos that you upload.”

Flickr does have some rights to your pictures. Flickr offers various levels of copyright to users who upload content which is probably why it’s hugely popular among professional and hobbyist photographers. All Rights Reserved is the default setting, meaning photos cannot be used without your permission. Flickr offer users the opportunity to license their photography through Getty images and license their work in the Creative Commons, which allow other users to share your photos with permission or without permission and use them in specific ways depending on which variation you choose.
