What are the differences between Limewire and Frostwire? Limewire was shutdown and Frostwire is still operating as a free peer to peer service on the Internet. FrostWire includes no ads and, a free program and does not try to sell upgrades. Both LimeWire and FrostWire are built on top of Java, meaning they can run on most operating systems.

LimeWire has commented on the release of LimeWire Pirate Edition distancing itself from the project: They have enough legal woes on their plate and don’t wish to add anymore to their legal expenses.
