A new reality show will air on NBC called School Pride which rebuilds a school in 10 days. When President Obama said “Yes We Can,” this school chanted back with “Yes We Did Change” the environment of a school by pulling up their sleeves and rebuilding their school. Yes they did! Cameras follow students, teachers, parents and community members as they roll up their sleeves and rebuild their own schools, concluding with the unveiling of a brand-new, completely transformed school. Cheryl Hines, the Emmy-nominated star of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” is executive producer of “School Pride,” along with Emmy-nominated executive producer Denise Cramsey (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”). Logical Choice Technologies donated its products to all seven schools being made-over on the series. Partners outfitted their classrooms with technologies contributed by Promethean, HP, Ken-A-Vision and Ignite Learning. Each week a dilapidated campus will be renovated by the school pride team: SWAT Commander Tom Stroup, interior designer and former Miss USA Susie Castillo, comedian and former teacher Kym Whitley and political correspondent Jacob Soboroff (“AMC News”). Despite what the naysayers have to say about the new reality show it is about time that the community has some “School Pride” and change the environment where their children are schooled.
SCHOOL PRIDE: 8 p.m. ET/PT Friday on NBC. Rated TV-PG (may be unsuitable for young children).
