Well. Well. Well. Who is Oprah Winfrey? Imagine in 2013 people purporting to not know who is dat black woman? The “Read” breaks it down. I loved how Ms. Oprah handled the slight by the clueless sales assistant. Next….You’re right boo. When Oprah realize how much the bag cost, clearly doll does not need “that” crocodile handbag hanging on her shoulder. Folks better stop playing. Ain’t nobody have time for dat scully wag nonsense. NEXT.
I believe Ms. Oprah. Nowadays folks are tripping. If folks in Switzerland did know who dat black woman is…..they do now.
“I was in Zurich the other day, in a store whose name I will not mention. I didn’t have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear. I had my little Donna Karan skirt and my little sandals. But obviously ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ is not shown in Zurich,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
“I go into a store and I say to the woman, ‘Excuse me, could I see the bag right above your head?’ and she says to me, ‘No. It’s too expensive.’”
The saleswoman went on to suggest she look at cheaper bags.
Winfrey said she left the shop calmly after the incident, but said that it proves that racism is still an issue.
The Swiss Tourism Office has apologized for the racism that media mogul Oprah Winfrey says she encountered last month while in town for Tina Turner’s wedding.
Oprah told Entertainment Tonight that a shop assistant in Zurich refused to show her a handbag that was “too expensive” for one of the world’s most powerful and richest women.
She told the story when asked by ET about the use of the N-word.
“Racism for me doesn’t show itself that way. It still exists,” she said and went on to explain what happened in the Zurich shop.
