Tracey Morgan probably wished he never said those unfunny jokes about stabbing his son…you know the one about if his kid came home gay what he would do. Uh huh!
“…better talk to me like a man and not in a gay voice or I’ll pull out a knife and stab that little n**ger to death.”
Instead of backing down, he quickly told the crowd.:
“I don’t “f*cking care if I piss off some gays, because if they can take a f*cking d**k up their ass… they can take a f*cking joke.”
Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the Human Rights Campaign call media outlets to advise them of a story lead that would be against Morgan’s tirade by calling for an investigation into Morgan’s comedy act. The next hot topic….GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios told the Hollywood Reporter that they plan to jump on Morgan’s backside and ride the media wave. Uh huh…those phone calls to Morgan’s publicist were probably not as cordial as this post but went more like, you bend the f%#@K over because we about to see if you can take a f*cking d**k up in your ass. After we are done you will need some asswipes…..
“Tracy Morgan’s management needs to investigate these allegations and should they prove true, we call on him to remove these violently anti-gay remarks from his show and send a strong message that anti-gay violence is not something to joke about.”
In typical celebrity fashion when reality sits in that one comment can end a career and the powers to be write the paychecks . Dude recanted, submitted to the backlash and is now on a media blitz LGBT tour. It appears Morgan is being dragged through the media and forced to become the straight man LGBT poster child. Joan Rivers does not buy the apologetic LGBT tour Morgan is on…”He shouldn’t apologize,” an enraged Rivers told The Daily Beast. “Gay fans? What are they doing seeing him anyhow? Why aren’t they watching me and Kathy Griffin? What are they doing at this show?” She then laughed and said, “He’s lost his [one] gay fan.”
Leave it to Joan Rivers to tell folks how she really feels:
“If they can actually get Tracey Morgan to be coherent and talk against homophobia even if he doesn’t mean it, I think that’d be all right,” she said. “Because there are people even dumber than Tracey Morgan, who look up to Tracey Morgan as an ignorant role model.”
“I’ll tell you, the biggest crime of all,” she added, “is that Tracey Morgan isn’t funny. You know what he should be apologizing for? For charging $86 to see him.”
Continuing to make amends for anti-gay comments he made, comedian Tracy Morgan met with LGBT teens in New York. Randi Kaye talks with Jayden Love (homeless teen), Carl Siciliano (The Ali Forney Center) & Elke Kennedy (Sean’s Last Wish).
As I watched this video. I kept thinking why haven’t the GLAAD and other LGBT organizations been on a media tour about homelessness for the LGBT teens? Why is a homeless teenager being used to discuss how he feels about Tracey Morgan “comedic” comments? The teen has much more serious issues that he should be asking the dude sitting next to him….now can you help me find a home?
Aside from the issue of homeless teens and why GLAAD and the LGBT has not discuss offering the teen a home rant.
Tracy Morgan has told GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios that he will team up with the group to meet with LGBT youth and participate in an anti-bullying PSA. Additionally, Morgan plans to return to Tennessee next week to apologize to audience members offended by his comments.
“I know how bad bullying can hurt,” he said. “I was bullied when I was a kid. I’m sorry for what I said. I didn’t mean it. I never want to use my comedy to hurt anyone. My family knew what it was like to feel different. My brother was disabled, and I lost my father to AIDS in 1987. My dad wasn’t gay but I also learned about homophobia then because of how people treated people who were sick with that. Parents should support and love their kids no matter what. Gay people deserve the same right to be happy in this country as everyone else. Our laws should support that. I hope that my fans gay, straight, whatever forgive, and I hope my family forgives me for this.”
Morgan met with Jayden Love and Raciel Castillo, two young people from the Ali Forney Center, the nation’s largest organization serving homeless LGBT youth. Thank goodness for the organization helping teens…..it is a good chance they will be receiving more residents after this broadcast any day now….especially if parents are still disowning a child for coming out and kicking them on the street for being gay.
The teens in a statement:
“We really appreciate that we were able to meet with Tracy Morgan, and that he was able to hear our stories of rejection at the hands of our own families and of being subsequently forced to survive on the streets. Raciel’s father insisted that his son’s sexual orientation was a ‘medical condition’ that could be ‘fixed’ through therapy, and Jayden was expelled by her religious family for being who she is. Our parents’ inability to accept us changed our lives for the worse. We hope that our stories have the power to change not only Tracy’s perspective, but those of any parent who may be struggling with accepting their child. In the meeting, Tracy clearly took responsibility for his words, and we hope that he will use his platform to make the world a better place for LGBT people.”
CNN spoke with Love and Carl Siciliano from the Ali Forney Center about the meeting.
Morgan is planning to return to Nashville, Tennessee where the comedy routine took place, to apologize directly to those who witnessed it.
Also at the meeting was Elke Kennedy, the mother of Sean Kennedy who was killed in an anti-gay hate crime in South Carolina in 2007.
