While chilling in my crib last night with my husband the news came across the television screen that Steve Jobs had passed away. My immediate reaction was I started sobbing like I had just lost a brother. I was completely thrown off balance for a few minutes as I gulped through sentences explaining to my husband why I was touched by Apple and Steve Jobs. What a kind man Steve Jobs was and now I know when I saw an image of Jobs looking frail plastered across the Internet. He was an soldier that did not want to display any weakness. Clearly Jobs knew his time left was limited on earth but that did not keep him from showing the world a brave face. How dare folks talk mess about the new iPhone 4S released by Tim Cook , Apple’s new CEO. The critism about the new iPhone and by ripping apart Cook’s last ditched effort to deliver an Apple product that most of us can’t live without and that Jobs would be proud of? I was stunned and sadden by the news that Jobs was gone….really gone!
My fondest memories of Apple I will treasure for a lifetime. I will remember how Apple visionary and genius Steve Jobs changed my life. I was working as an Hewlett Packard representive when I was offered to work as an outsourced Apple Representative to represent the entire Apple line in the Rockville, Maryland area. I was ecstatic to represent the Apple brand for the short period of time during my employment. From stepping onto the Apple campus for 5 days of Apple training on all of the Apple products and learning the culture to proudly awaking with an Apple iPhone every morning to surf, talk and check my various social media handles. When I visited the Apple headquarters in Cali. Upon walking through the campus I was absolutely mesmerized by the white washed walls, the clean decor, the large Apple logo on the wall when you walk in the foyer and the lunch served everyday to employees in the food lounge. What I remember from my own hands on experience with Apple was when I was first introduced to Apple technology and Photoshop. There are some things in life you will never forget. Attending training conducted by Apple is one of those things I will treasure for the rest of my life. I can take the advice, training and Apple product knowledge and apply it in my everyday life. I will never forget Steve Jobs and all of his contributions to the world.
My condolences to the Jobs family and Apple employees. R.I.P. Steve Jobs, you will never be forgotten.
