I get all that Michael Vick committed a crime, but who are these people to tell dude he is suppose to go hide in a corner? There will always be folks until Michael Vick’s dying day that will hang over his head the dog fighting crime. There will be nothing you can do nor say to those people that will change their minds. As a dog lover myself, I still don’t believe it is my place and responsibility to condemn Vick for the rest of his life. The world left him to rot and folks rallied against Vick playing football for the Philadelphia Eagles. This is what a comeback looks like when the world thought you were done. Without a doubt “Michael Vick can play football…..that is what he does and has done. Michael Vick is known as $100 Million dollar man….
“Absolutely,” Vick said, when asked whether he feels he has to win a Super Bowl to validate his new contract.
“As a competitor, I don’t feel like my career would be complete without that. That’s the reason I’ve worked so hard,” Vick, 31, told a NovaCare news conference yesterday.
“I’ve learned a lot of lessons, some the hard way,” said Vick, who vowed that his new contract won’t make him complacent – he said he will work harder, “to continue to show that I’m worthy of everything I’ve gotten.”
“That is what’s left to be done,” team president Joe Banner said on Comcast SportsNet’s “Daily News Live,” when asked about the pressure on Vick to win a Super Bowl now.
Quarterback Michael Vick has signed new contract deal with the Philadelphia Eagles worth $100 million over 6 years, with $40 million guaranteed.
This is the second time in Vick’s career that he has signed a nine-figure deal, an amazing comeback after being suspended from the NFL in 2007 and serving 19 months in jail for dog fighting. Coach Andy Reid said in a statement about the deal:
“I’m very happy we were able to reach an agreement with Michael on this long-term contract. It’s a product of all the hard work Michael has done to better himself over the last couple of years, both on and off the field.”
