As each year pass, you stop counting how long you been together. You’ll both look up one day and hopefully you’re still together on your anniversary day. Today is our wedding anniversary. My husband and I courted one another for 4.5 years before we officially tied the official knot of matrimony. It has been an interesting journey of 12.5 years. Each year has had its moments of obstacles but none that would make me think negatively of marriage. In fact, there are always going to temptations, outside influences and those things that could asunder the course of an marriage. Through the tears, arguments, pitfalls, stumbles and loving moments, we have prevailed another year. Had it not been for the good lords grace…we may both have stumbled into divorce court a very long time ago. I am proud to say “Happy Anniversary” to yours truly. US! Ask me next year what I think about marriage and hopefully we are still singing a joyous song!
I reviewed my pictures from renewing our vows in Jamaica of myself in a church wedding dress that I purchased 9 months after getting engaged. My suggestion to any bride is to wait to purchase the wedding dress and hire a professional photographer to take to the island with you to capture your day. I almost passed out in the Jamaican heat.
